I'm a fan of Twitter, but all my colleagues at work are set on using Skype. If you'd let us save status messages, I'll show them how they can keep track of one another's interests and workflows by saving logs of their friends status messages using Contact Alarm. You'll gain another 10-15 users with this feature from my company. If you can advertise the new feature well (as a powerful Skype logging system) the Contact Alarm software could enjoy more widespread adoption.
