Hello,

I would highly appreciate such a feature too.
A friend af mine is posting valueable queries each day and if i have had this feture I would now have an excellent collection of queries and speeches! :-)

It's 8 month ago that you asked where this "mood" info should be saved/displayed. Is there any fortune ongoing by now?

THX and a Happy New Year in advance

Hey,
First thanks for your great addon for Snarl.
itunes Snarl does not display german umlaute like ä ü ö instead it displays boxes.
Furthermore sometimes the album name is not displayed although it is stored correctly in the itunes db and the id3 tags of the mp3.
I was not able to determine what is the problem but it seems to happen only to some albums. If it is happening then the entire album is affected and the album name is not shown for every track on that album.
Can you please look into that?
There is one other minor thing.
It would be great it you could add support for displaying the album rating as stars.
Cheers,
Johannes

Hi hellboy,

I'm sorry, but this is not the case. It's due to Skype's status messaging nature. If a contact is online and goes invisible, it will appear to ContactAlarm as if the contact went offline. When the user goes from invisible to any online status (e.g. "away" or "online"), ContactAlarm will assume that the user has come "online".
In fact, it doesn't differ from the way you as a user experience your contacts' status changes to "invisible" and back.

Hi, firstly, thanks for a great add-on to Skype. It still amazes me that this isn't part of Skype itself, but then we can be grateful for programmers like yourselves.

I was wondering that since Skype v4 now allows you to specify where it plays alerts to i.e. you can set the "Speakers" and "Ringing" to different devices etc, could Contact Alarm be coded to obey the setting and use the "Ringing" device?

For example I have Skype set so that "Speakers" is my USB headset but "Ringing" is still my laptop's sound card. Therefore when I get a call or an incoming chat ping, I can hear it without having to have always wear my headset and it also means that during a voice call the sounds don't come through as loud.

Hope that makes sense.

that's an interesting idea. I'll look into it right away.
Just to be clear: By "status message" you mean the twitter-like "mood info" I can set to the right of my picture in Skype, right?
Do you want that status message to only go into the logfile or would you also like it to be displayed in the fade-in/fade-out windows?

I love the contact alarm plug-in. Please add the ability to save status messages in-line with changes in availability.
I'm a fan of Twitter, but all my colleagues at work are set on using Skype. If you'd let us save status messages, I'll show them how they can keep track of one another's interests and workflows by saving logs of their friends status messages using Contact Alarm. You'll gain another 10-15 users with this feature from my company. If you can advertise the new feature well (as a powerful Skype logging system) the Contact Alarm software could enjoy more widespread adoption.

Firstly, great work with the addon. It makes using iTunes that little bit better!
Secondly, I was wondering if a feature could be implimented that would alert you to download progress. ie. download finished, new downloads found, downloads started, downloads failed etc. Just thought it would be a nice addition :)

unfortunately, there seem to be some problems with the 64-bit versions of Windows Vista :-( I hope, I can acquire a 64-bit OS version soon, so that I can look into this issue. Your report from above points in the direction of "insufficient permissions".

Hey Pjanssen,

it would actually not be that hard to implement such an option, but how would you open Contact Alarm then (to e.g. set another alarm)?
You know, you can customize, which icons are shown in your tray, right? Right-click on the taskbar->Properties, then in the bottom right of the new window click on "Customize...". In the opening dialog you can define, which icons shall be shown all the time and which should be hidden and only be shown, once you click on the "expand" symbol.

I really would like to see an option to hide the tray icon for contact alarm. Because my tray is getting flooded with icons and as soon as it is set I don't need the icon any longer.
Is there anybody else who feels the same?
